Greek Euro coins
Greek Euro coins feature a different design on the obverse for each value. The subjects of the 1 2 and 5 cents coins are famous Greek ships, those of the 10 20 and 50 centimes feature portraits of illustrious Greek personalities, finally the two major values shows images of Greek history and mythology. On the obverse side of Greek coins is also included the value of the coins, written in the Greek alphabet, feature that makes them different from all other states coins. On the reverse, like any other Euro issue, the face is common to all nations.
All Greek Euro coins are minted by the Mint of Athens, with the exception of some series dated 2002 when, due to the high quantity required, the coins were commissioned from the mints of Finland, France and Spain.
