On the Obverse, on the left side of the coin, there is an abstract representation of a rectangular door with a mirror finish, symbolizing state visits. The design is completed bottom and right by a series of horizontal lines that groove the entire surface, while a circular line intersects the area formed by the horizontal lines. Along the left side of the door, positioned vertically, is the minting year, between the mintmark at the bottom and the initials “FI” (identifying Finland) at the top. On the outer part 12 five-pointed stars, symbol of the European Union. The coin's Reverse is the new common side of Euro coins, with the face value '2' on the left and the European continent on the right, overlapped by the inscription 'EURO'. Six vertical lines with a star at each end are placed behind the Europe's image.
Edge: finely milled, with the inscription "SUOMI FINLAND" in incuse followed by three lion heads.
