50 eurocent Bulgaria

The Obverse depicts the Madara Rider: a bas-relief carved into the rock on the Madara Plateau (in northeastern Bulgaria), dating back to the 8th century and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Rider, facing right, is depicted in the act of piercing a lion, which lies at the feet of his horse. The upper part features the circular inscription “БЪЛГАРИЯ” (the name of the country in Bulgarian), the minting year is on the right, and the arched inscription "СТОТИНКИ" (“cents” in the Cyrillic alphabet) is at the bottom. On the outside part are placed 12 five-pointed stars, representing the European Union. The coin's Reverse is the new common side of Euro coins, with the face value "50 EURO CENT" on the center-right part and the European continent on the left. Six vertical lines with a star at each end are placed behind the Europe's image.
