2 Euro Bulgaria

The Obverse features a portrait of Saint Paisius of Hilendar, a Bulgarian priest, historian, and writer. The Saint, a key figure in the Bulgarian national revival, is also famous for being the author of "Istoriya Slavyanobolbolgarskaya", one of the masterpieces of Bulgarian literature. On the right, adjacent to the inner edge, is the circular inscription “БЪЛГАРИЯ” (the name of the country in Bulgarian), while on the left, also along the inner edge, is the arched inscription "EBPO" (“EURO” in Cyrillic), followed by the minting year. On the outside part are placed 12 five-pointed stars, representing the European Union. The coin's Reverse is the new common side of Euro coins, with the face value "2" on the left and the European continent on the right, overlapped by the inscription "EURO". Six vertical lines with a star at each end are placed behind the Europe's image.
Edge: finely milled, with the inscription "БОЖЕ, ПАЗИ БЪЛГАРИЯ" ("God, protect Bulgaria") in incuse, repeated twice, alternately from bottom to top.
