100 years of Košice Peace Marathon

On the Obverse, the left side of the coin depicts a marathon runner, while the right side shows a detail of St. Elizabeth's Cathedral, one of the architectural landmarks of the city of Košice. The upper part features the circular inscription “KOŠICKÝ MARATÓN,” while the lower part, superimposed on the images, features the inscription “SLOVENSKO,” with the years "1924" (the year of the first marathon) and “2024” below, positioned to the left and right of the marathon runner's foot touching the ground. Just above the name of the country, close to the marathon runner's legs, are the mint mark “MK” on the left and the stylized initials of the author “LR” on the right. On the outer part 12 five-pointed stars, symbol of the European Union. The coin's Reverse is the new common side of Euro coins, with the face value "2" on the left and the European continent on the right, overlapped by the inscription "EURO". Six vertical lines with a star at each end are placed behind the Europe's image.
Edge: finely milled, with the inscription "SLOVENSKÁ REPUBLIKA" and two stars interspersed with a lime leaf.
